Ramping Up in 2024 Adventures in FMX

It seems 2024 has taken a while to start, but it is finally upon us! FMX Ramp-Age is a new venture for me. Ive spent 22 years chasing events and contest organized by other people, so now being the one organizing the event is quite the change, and requires a whole separate work load. El Dorado Fair & Expo hosted the first event for us this year in Placerville, CA, and man was it great! It seems like I can’t stop moving during the first show of the year. Making sure everything is in the perfect place, every rider knows their job, and preparing myself for my part of the show seem like never ending tasks. I think I sat in my truck with the A/C on for 30 minutes at one point to get out of the 90º heat, and other than that I was out all day preparing from 7:30am to 10:30pm….wild! Despite the hard work, the joy I feel after finishing one of my own shows, and watching my production come to life is unlike any feeling I have felt within my FMX career for many years. All the moving parts finally come together…Kohl launches the worlds sketchiest ramp, kids smile when they win merch during the show, and people cheer when they see the massive tricks! Putting a smile on peoples faces while I take them on a walk through the history of Freestyle Motocross feels so good that it makes the extensive work days totally worth it. The FMX Ramp Age crew has another month to regroup, make changes, and be ready to crush it at our next event August 3rd in Carson City, NV. Hope to see you all there!
